You're in safe hands

With the announcement of a national lockdown on 4th January 2021, we will be unable to support internal visits with the use of rapid tests, in line with government guidance. Visits within our designated visitor suites can continue as normal however, and should be booked in the usual way. End of Life and essential visits will be facilitated as per government guidance. With the commencement of vaccination programmes in our Care Homes we will be reviewing this situation in line with advice from Public Health England and will welcome you back in to our homes with rapid tests as soon as it is safe to do so.

Rowden House has an activities co-ordinator who organises a variety of activities for residents to take part in. The activities programme is very comprehensive and is designed to promote well-being by focusing on the physical, mental and emotional needs that people have and to tailor activities to meet these indivdual needs. We are a house of fun, we go out once a month at least and our destination is chosen by residents. We have had recent trips to Longleat, Hayes Motor Museum and Clarkes Village. We also pop into town, to a local cafe, or to the pub for lunch.

If you have any clubs or hobbies that you belong to, we will try to support you to be able to maintain these whilst you are staying with us.

We regularly have themed days where staff will dress up and we follow the theme for the day with quizzes, music and food.

We have lots of entertainers come into the home offering a wide range of activities, including arts and crafts, singing and reminiscence.

Once a year we hold a garden party and invite our families and our friends from other homes to join us for entertainment and tea in the garden. At our last party we followed a Hollywood theme and we dressed in our finery, and were entertained by “Elvis”.
