Celebrating the achievements of colleagues across the Somerset Care Group
On Wednesday this week (20th March), colleagues from across the business came together to celebrate success at our annual Somerset Care Group Awards. Nominated by customers and colleagues, the awards recognise the achievements of individuals and teams from all areas of the organisation over the last year, including those working in our home care, residential care, learning disabilities care, physical disabilities care and support services.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we were able to hold an in-person awards ceremony for the first time since the pandemic, hosted by Haynes Motor Museum in Sparkford.

The Harry Patch Award
The Harry Patch Award was introduced in December 2009 following the death of Harry Patch, the ‘Last Surviving Tommy’ and resident of Fletcher House, Wells. The inaugural award was made to Carol Mohide, Manager of Fletcher House, who had cared for Harry for many years.
Since then, the award has developed into recognising those who have delivered exceptional service to those in our care, across our entire range of services.
We’re delighted to announce that the winner of our 2023 Harry Patch Award is Cat Brown, manager of our Southlawns residential care home in Street.
Thank you to our sponsors
We would like to extend our thanks to our Somerset Care Group Awards sponsors, whose generosity and support made this event possible.
