Wyndham House launches intimate dining experience
An innovative new dining experience has been launched in Minehead to support couples and families who have a loved one living with dementia.
Wyndham House on Martlet Road has converted one of their unused rooms at the care home to create a relaxing and intimate dining area. Offering a 3 course menu, freshly prepared by one of the Cooks, couples and families can book in for an evening meal in a supportive and comfortable environment, with an experienced and dedicated staffing team on hand.
Speaking on the new service, Wyndham House Manager, Sharon Watts said: “I do have a relative living with a form of dementia, which can make it challenging for meals out with the family. After experiencing it first-hand, I wanted to introduce this service to our offering at Wyndham House and support people living with dementia and their families to enjoy social occasions.”
Sharon has been supported by her Operations Manager, Diane Allen, who helped to bring the idea to fruition. The dining experience is also open to residents at the Minehead care home, who have already invited family to join them, and our home care customers.
This is not the only new service in the West Somerset area. Our new Petals Active Living Centre has opened within the grounds of Wyndham House. Utilising our experience and research, the new dementia day care service provides stimulating day time activities for people living with dementia and in turn, respite for their loved ones.
