Caring for our people
As a care provider, we know that looking after people is the most important thing that we do.
That’s why - in recognition of the difficult time we are all experiencing, and the additional challenges faced by those working in the care sector during the coronavirus pandemic – we’re making extra wellbeing support available to all of our staff.
It has never been more important for us to look after our people so that they can continue to offer the high level of support that our residents and their loved ones associate with Somerset Care. With coronavirus restrictions making it difficult to provide support face to face, we’re making enhanced support available to our incredibly hard-working and compassionate team in other ways.
Our new, online, Colleague Wellbeing Support system provides free, confidential access to frequently asked questions about family, personal and workplace issues to help colleagues look after and protect their wellbeing. Requiring nothing more than an internet connection, this service is easily accessible to all of our team, wherever they are based and whatever job they do.
As well as a comprehensive reference library, staff can also access free, professional counselling services and a 24/7 helpline for one-to-one assistance to address and overcome any difficulties they may be facing. This support will remain in place even after the impact of the coronavirus pandemic has passed.
We’re proud to support our residents and clients to live the life they choose, and this extra support will help our staff to do the same.
